A Sheffield-based technology entrepreneur has launched what is believed to be the first job platform in the United Kingdom to automatically verify employer listings against the official UK Home Office Register of Licensed Sponsors.
Hiredge (hiredge.co.uk), founded by Afeez Akinfola Oyinloye through his company MacTech Global Ventures Ltd, addresses a critical gap in the UK job market that costs immigrants months of wasted applications and missed opportunities.
THE PROBLEM HIREDGE SOLVES
The UK Home Office maintains a publicly available Register of Licensed Sponsors, a database of 141,134 employers currently authorised to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship under the Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker visa routes. Without a Certificate of Sponsorship, internationally trained professionals cannot legally work in the UK under these visa categories.
Despite the register being publicly available, it exists as a raw government spreadsheet that is practically impossible for job seekers to use when applying for roles. The result is that thousands of immigrants apply to employers who cannot legally sponsor their visa, wasting time and facing rejection at the final stage of recruitment due to their immigration status.

HOW HIREDGE WORKS
Hiredge loads the complete Home Office Register of Licensed Sponsors into its database and automatically cross-references it against job listings pulled simultaneously from Reed, Adzuna, Guardian Jobs and NHS Jobs. The register is re-synced every Monday at 06:00 UTC to ensure data remains current.
Users set up a job alert by entering their job titles, preferred locations and selecting whether they require visa sponsorship. Free users receive weekly alerts every Monday. Pro subscribers receive daily alerts at 08:00 GMT. Every job included in a sponsored alert has been verified against the register before reaching the user’s inbox.
The platform also features a free Employer Sponsor Checker at hiredge.co.uk/sponsor-checker, where anyone can type a company name and instantly see whether that employer appears on the Home Office register. No account is required.
INDUSTRY FIRST: NHS SUPPORTING STATEMENT GENERATOR
Beyond job alerts, Hiredge introduces what its founder describes as the UK’s first AI-powered NHS Supporting Statement Generator.

Afeez Akinfola Oyinloye is a Nigerian-born entrepreneur based in Sheffield, UK. A Global Talent in digital technology and is a Sheffield Hallam University and University of East London alumnus.
