Backend software engineer and digital inclusion advocate Oluwatosin Temitope Akande has been honoured at The Ultimate Awards as one of the Top 10 West Africa Digital Technology Entrepreneurs of 2023, recognised for his distinguished leadership in advancing youth technology development in Nigeria.
The award was presented on September 10, 2023, at the Aurora Conference & Event Centre, Osogbo, during a ceremony celebrating outstanding digital innovation and entrepreneurship across West Africa.
During his tenure as President of the Digital Onboarders CDS (Mind The Gap) under the National Youth Service Corps in Osun State, Akande oversaw a network of more than 5,000 corps members and coordinated state-wide digital outreach programs.
The initiative provided structured digital literacy and online safety training to over 18,000 secondary school students across multiple local government areas. The program introduced students to technology career pathways, including software development, cybersecurity, and digital innovation.
In addition to coordinating large-scale training sessions, Akande represented the CDS at Local Government, State, and National NYSC meetings, contributing to broader community development strategies.
