Nigerian digital entrepreneur Ayoola Adetutu Oniyinde has been awarded the Best Africa Digital Technology Entrepreneur Award by the University of Vaasa, Finland, in recognition of her exceptional contributions to Africa’s digital innovation ecosystem.
The award, presented on 27 August 2023 and endorsed by senior members of the university’s innovation faculty, followed a rigorous evaluation process that considered entrepreneurial impact, product innovation, and contributions to technology development across the continent.
Oniyinde was recognised for her pioneering work in digital transformation through platforms such as Cadastra360, a PropertyTech solution enabling transparent land and property verification, and MediTrust, a digital health platform improving access to remote healthcare services for underserved communities. Both platforms have gained significant user adoption and are noted for addressing longstanding structural gaps in their respective sectors.
The award panel also commended Oniyinde’s dedication to digital skills development. Over the past few years, she has trained and mentored more than 1,000 students, civil servants, and young professionals across Nigeria, equipping them with skills in digital literacy, product development, and innovation leadership.
Representatives of the University of Vaasa described her achievements as “a powerful example of scalable African innovation and the growing global influence of Nigerian technology founders.”
Reacting to the honour, Oniyinde expressed gratitude, noting that the recognition reinforces her commitment to building solutions that enhance transparency, digital access, and socio economic development across Africa.
