UNICEF and TECNO Mobile Launch Second Year of Learning Passport Programme in Nigeria

UNICEF and TECNO Mobile have renewed and expanded their strategic partnership on the Microsoft backed Learning Passport platform, marking the initiative’s second year in Nigeria with a strong focus on large scale teacher training.

The expanded programme will roll out comprehensive digital literacy and pedagogy training for thousands of teachers across six states, equipping them with the skills and resources needed to integrate technology effectively into classroom instruction and improve learning outcomes for students.

Building on the successes of the first year, the collaboration aims to bridge Nigeria’s digital education divide by providing educators with curated digital content, modern teaching methodologies, and continuous professional development through the national Learning Passport platform.

“This partnership demonstrates the transformative power of public private collaboration in education,” said a UNICEF Nigeria representative. “By combining TECNO’s technological reach and innovation with UNICEF’s expertise in education, we are empowering teachers to deliver quality, inclusive, and future ready learning experiences.”

TECNO Mobile has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education in Nigeria through sustained investment in devices, connectivity solutions, and capacity building initiatives that place teachers and students at the centre of digital transformation.

The second phase of the programme is expected to reach more schools and beneficiaries than ever before, contributing directly to Nigeria’s efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4 – ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
