Gabon Advances Four Digital Projects to Drive Public Sector Modernisation
ANINF is playing a central role in implementing the government’s digital transformation agenda and securing Gabon’s national digital environment.
Gabon is advancing four major digital transformation projects aimed at modernising public administration, improving access to government services and strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure.
The projects were reviewed during the sixth Steering Committee session of the e-Gabon-SIS project and the Gabon Digital programme, held on September 8, 2026, under the chairmanship of Mark-Alexandre Doumba, Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalization and Innovation.
The first project involves modernising the Single Master File and gradually migrating it to an integrated human resources management system. The initiative is expected to give public officials easier access to career information and administrative procedures without requiring physical visits.
Gabon is also developing an interoperability platform that will allow government information systems to securely communicate and exchange reliable data. The platform is expected to reduce duplication in administrative processes and improve coordination between government institutions.
Another priority is the deployment of a National Digital Identity System, which is designed to strengthen digital identification and make it easier for citizens to access public services. The system is expected to reduce the need for citizens to repeatedly submit the same documents when accessing government services.
The fourth project is the planned commissioning of a government messaging system before the end of 2026. The system is intended to secure professional communications within the public administration while strengthening the protection of government data.
According to the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF), the projects are designed to simplify administrative procedures, reduce delays and improve the quality and efficiency of public services.
The initiatives form part of President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema’s vision of a more modern, connected and digitally sovereign state. ANINF is playing a central role in implementing the government’s digital transformation agenda and securing Gabon’s national digital environment.
Alberto Mounguengui Moudoki, Director General of ANINF and chairman of the Technical Committee, reaffirmed the agency’s role in supporting the country’s digital transformation and strengthening its digital sovereignty.
