Airtel Money Kenya and ChildFund Partner to Strengthen Learning Conditions in Underserved Regions
Airtel Money Kenya, working through the Airtel Africa Foundation, has entered into a collaboration with ChildFund Kenya to improve access to quality education for more than 2,000 students across selected counties in Kenya.
The programme targets schools in Baringo, Garissa, and Wajir, with a focus on upgrading basic infrastructure and improving essential services such as clean water supply and sanitation facilities. The intervention also includes support for digital learning tools and tailored assistance for learners with visual and hearing disabilities.
The initiative is designed to go beyond physical renovation, aiming instead to create safer and more inclusive school environments that support both learning outcomes and student wellbeing. It reflects a broader effort by Airtel Money Kenya to combine financial services operations with social development programmes through its foundation structure.
According to the organisation, the intervention is intended to remove barriers that prevent children in underserved communities from fully participating in education, particularly in regions where infrastructure gaps continue to affect learning conditions.
Anne Kinuthia Otieno described the partnership as a practical investment in improving educational access, especially for learners who require additional support to engage effectively in the classroom environment.
The collaboration is expected to contribute to improved learning environments across the targeted counties, helping to expand educational inclusion and provide students with better conditions to develop academic and personal skills.
