Airtel Africa Share Buyback Advances with Latest Purchase of 40000 Shares

Airtel Africa plc Share Buyback programme continues to demonstrate the company’s strong commitment to enhancing shareholder value. On 2 January 2026, Airtel Africa plc executed a transaction to purchase additional ordinary shares under its ongoing initiative. This move follows the shareholder authority granted and aligns fully with the details of the buy back program originally disclosed on 22 September 2025.

The company acquired a total of 40000 ordinary shares, each with a nominal value of USD 0.50, from Barclays Capital Securities Limited. These Airtel Africa Share Buyback purchases occurred at prices ranging between 356.40 pence and 363.80 pence. The volume weighted average price for the transaction stood at 361.09 pence. Airtel Africa has confirmed that all repurchased shares under this latest Airtel Africa Share Buyback activity will be cancelled immediately.

After the cancellation, the total number of ordinary shares in issue for Airtel Africa now stands at 3655840539. This figure includes 7489044 shares held in treasury. As a result, the company’s total voting rights amount to 3648351495. Airtel Africa advises shareholders to use this updated voting rights figure when calculating disclosure obligations in accordance with the UK Financial Conduct Authority’s Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.

The Airtel Africa Share Buyback transactions took place across several trading venues, such as the London Stock Exchange, BATS Europe, CHI-X Europe, Aquis Exchange, and Turquoise. The London Stock Exchange handled the largest portion of the shares acquired, underscoring its primary role in the execution of the programme.

Since the first tranche of the $100 million Airtel Africa Share Buyback programme began in December 2024, the company has repurchased a cumulative total of 40965209 ordinary shares. These acquisitions occurred at a volume weighted average price of 152.4457 pence per share. This reflects the sustained scale and consistent execution of the Airtel Africa Share Buyback initiative over time.

All recent transactions, including this latest Airtel Africa Share Buyback purchase, were completed under the revised arrangements with Barclays Capital Securities Limited, as announced in September 2025.
