24 African STEM Fellows Chosen as Yango Expands AI-Driven Tech Initiative to Six Nations

Yango has expanded its Yango Fellowship programme into a Pan-African initiative, extending its reach to six African countries and supporting the development of young talent in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The fellowship, which began in Zambia in 2024 with 30 students, now covers Ghana, Zambia, Senegal, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Côte d’Ivoire.

Yango said the expansion reflects its commitment to investing in the continent’s next generation of innovators and creating opportunities for talented young people across different African markets.
The 24 fellows are expected to gather in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from September 17 to 19, 2026, for the Pan-African Yango Fellowship Graduation & Pitch Day.
During the event, the fellows will showcase their innovations and pitch their projects to a panel of judges as they mark the completion of the fellowship programme.
Yango thanked the participating students, partners and its teams for supporting the initiative and contributing to its expansion across the continent.
