Nigeria Introduces AI Powered GovGuideNigeria to Improve Access to Public Services

Nigeria has launched a new artificial intelligence driven platform, GovGuideNigeria, designed to help citizens more easily access government information and navigate public services.

The initiative was announced by Bosun Tijani who described the platform as part of ongoing efforts to make interactions with government institutions more accessible, inclusive, and user-friendly. GovGuideNigeria is accessible through both WhatsApp and a web platform, enabling users to obtain information without navigating complex government systems.

To improve accessibility for a wider population, the platform supports multiple local languages, including English, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba. This multilingual approach is intended to bridge communication gaps and improve access for individuals from varying literacy and linguistic backgrounds.

GovGuideNigeria brings together information from dozens of federal ministries and government agencies into a single digital touchpoint, allowing users to quickly find guidance on public services, processes, and government related enquiries. The platform is expected to reduce friction in accessing public information while improving citizens’ experience when engaging with government institutions.

According to Tijani, the project aligns with the government’s broader digital transformation agenda, particularly efforts focused on applying artificial intelligence to improve inclusion and better support underserved communities. He noted that technology can play an important role in closing information gaps and expanding access to essential services.

The platform was developed through a multi stakeholder collaboration involving the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Meta and Publica AI. Officials described the partnership as an example of how collaboration between government institutions, technology companies, and local innovators can be used to solve everyday challenges and improve public engagement with government services.
