The African Digital Transformation Centre has been officially launched in South Africa, representing a key step forward in advancing digital innovation across the continent. Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Mondli Gungubele (MP), led the launch event at The Innovation Hub in Pretoria. This initiative positions South Africa as a central player in supporting technology-driven growth and empowering emerging digital businesses.
Deputy Minister Gungubele described the African Digital Transformation Centre as a beacon of innovation and a clear demonstration of Africa’s resolve to lead its own digital development. The centre will act as a powerful catalyst, helping to drive the continent’s overall digital progress through targeted support and collaboration.
The African Digital Transformation Centre focuses on empowering ICT small and medium enterprises (SMEs) along with digital entrepreneurs. It offers access to modern facilities, comprehensive business development assistance, mentorship programs, funding opportunities, and connections to both local and global markets. By bringing together stakeholders from government, the private sector, academia, and civil society, the centre creates a collaborative environment where emerging technologies can translate into meaningful economic benefits and job creation.
