Airtel Uganda has introduced the Airtel Africa Foundation Tech Fellowship, a dedicated programme designed to support outstanding undergraduate students enrolled in STEM and technology related courses across Ugandan universities.
The fellowship provides complete financial coverage, including full tuition fees, accommodation costs, academic materials, and a monthly stipend to cater for essential course related expenses. This comprehensive package allows selected students to concentrate fully on their studies without the burden of financial constraints.
The official launch was led by Airtel Uganda Managing Director, Soumendra Sahu, while Patrick Mbonye, Chief Executive Officer of Q Sourcing Servtec Uganda confirmed that his organization has been appointed as the official partner responsible for managing the entire application, shortlisting, and selection process.
Through this initiative, the Airtel Africa Foundation seeks to identify and uplift academically gifted students who demonstrate exceptional potential but may face financial hardship or other socio economic barriers that could prevent them from completing their education.
By removing these obstacles, the fellowship aims to enable talented young Ugandans to successfully complete their degrees, build rewarding careers in technology, and contribute to the growth of the country’s digital economy as future innovators, engineers, and tech leaders.
