The Lagos State Government has commended the growing impact of digital health technology platforms that are expanding access to quality care across Africa. Speaking at a health innovation roundtable in Alausa, the Governor highlighted the crucial role of technology-driven solutions in improving patient outcomes, reducing wait times, and supporting remote consultations in both urban and underserved communities.
He noted that platforms such as Helium Health (Nigeria), mPharma (Ghana), Vezeeta (Egypt), RelianceHMO (Nigeria), 54Gene (Nigeria), Healthsyn NG and others have strengthened Africa’s digital health ecosystem through electronic medical records, teleconsultations, and AI-assisted diagnostics.
The Governor also acknowledged the contribution of MediTrust NG (eClinic) owned by Ayoola Adetutu Oniyinde, a Nigeria-based telehealth and patient-management system, for its efforts in enabling virtual consultations for thousands of patients, supporting clinicians with integrated medical records, and driving operational efficiency across partner hospitals.
According to government representatives present at the event, digital platforms like these continue to play a major role in supporting primary healthcare delivery, driving innovation, and enabling a more resilient healthcare system across the continent.
